Job Objective:

• The critical objective of this role would be to design and execute the growth strategy of the company in order to achieve profitability targets and manage the daily operations of the Company.
• Responsible for coordinating the selection and acceptance of risks, determining pricing, and determining all terms and conditions for the acceptance of risks

Role Qualification:

• Academic/Professional: Academic qualification in a quantitative field, ACII/ ACIIN would be an added advantage.
• Work experience: 10 years of working experience, with a minimum of 7 years on the underwriting desk and 5 years in a leadership role.
  

Responsibilities:

• Supervise, coordinate, and drive the pricing and determination of terms and conditions for the acceptance of micro-insurance and health insurance risks
• Responsible for driving the overall Company’s volume profitability targets and volume growth
• Access the eligibility of a prospect to receive insurance products and review all the risks
• Drive articulation, dissemination, and implementation of current trends in underwriting across all SBU’s
• Preparation and dissemination of underwriting guidelines across the business
• Design and implement structures, and policies specifically for retail health portfolios and seamless service delivery to internal customers
• Provide underwriting direction for all direct reports
• Ensure that all underwriting activities are in line with NHIS and all regulatory provisions
• Evaluates and monitors all portfolios to ensure their profitability
• Create a system that would ensure efficient working relationships with the sales teams to meet the Company’s volume target
• Ensure regular interaction with the claims team to ensure the continuous refining of pricing terms and conditions
